The Douglas store, located in the heart of Geneva for many years, has become a reference in the sale of premium beauty products. This shop of approximately 700 m2 located in the rue de la Croix d’Or impresses by its volume and its facade.

Our mandate

The sales area needed to be transformed in order to be adapted to contemporary requirements, particularly in terms of energy and safety. Our initial mission was to assist the company in a simple transformation and renovation of the interior surfaces.

Challenges met

As the shop suffered a fire at the beginning of 2021, we were confronted with many unforeseen events. First of all, we accompanied the client in the expertise process to establish the state of the structure that had been affected by the fire. We then reviewed not only the fire protection concept, but also the safety concept of the building envelope. By coordinating studies and tests on the identified critical points, we were able to define the necessary structural and safety reinforcement measures. Despite the tight schedule, we coordinated the project with many different trades and delivered the building on time. This complex project was a real challenge, both in terms of coordinating the many players involved and taking into account the intertwined issues from planning to completion. We are proud to have achieved a clear and coherent whole.
